I always admired Robert Frost. His poems mostly !
His "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" was a poem we grew up with.
My friend Devendra Reddy loved it too.
I have never claimed to be an original.
Somehow remaking or innovating on other people's work is easier.
Here is the original poem for all of us to remember !
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Which Dudes are these I think I know.
These guys were in the college though;
They will sure see me dropping here
To watch the words fill up this now.
My Dear Spouse must think it queer
To crave for days out of the near
Between the Dudes and lazy folks
The earnest evenings with the beer.
He gives my memory cells a shake
To ask if there is any new take.
The only other sound's the beep
Of msg on mobile vibrating shake.
The life is lovely, pockets quite deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And Smiles to go before I sleep,
And Smiles to go before I sleep.
Great Dude!
ReplyDeleteYeah, got lot of Smile because of this lot.
Thank you, all.
Wow, That is quite fast :-)
ReplyDeletePlagarism with your originality!
ReplyDeleteBoss keep it going including the smiles
Dabs,
ReplyDeletePlagiarism is when you steal someone's work without acknowledging. I wouldn't like to be a thief of ideas. I am an honest admirer of good work of art and have just given an inspired tribute to my friends.
There is no originality when you copy. That is why I have given the immortal poem of the great Robert Frost at the top as reference.
Thanks for the smiles :-)
